Bronzeville crash leaves four hospitalized, including two teenagers: police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two teenagers were among four people injured in a crash on the city's South Side early Saturday, Chicago police said.

Police said the crash happened in the Bronzeville neighborhood's 100-block of West Pershing Road just before 2:15 a.m.

A teen boy was driving a white SUV northbound when he failed to obey a traffic signal and struck a gray sedan, which was heading westbound on Pershing, police said.

The white SUV's driver, whose age was not immediately known, was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition.

The gray sedan's driver, a 24-year-old man, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

A 24-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the gray sedan, was taken to the same hospital, also in good condition.

Another passenger in the gray sedan, a 15-year-old girl, was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition.

No other injuries were reported, and the white SUV's driver was cited, police said.

Police did not immediately provide further information.
