Teenager shot in Carol Stream home, police say

CAROL STREAM, Ill. (WLS) -- A teenager was shot in a west suburban home on Tuesday, Carol Stream police said.

Police said they responded to reports of a shooting at about 10 a.m. in the 500-block of Alton Court.

Chopper 7 was over the investigation in the area of Newport Villages, north of North Avenue.

Police said a male teen, whose age was not disclosed, was shot. He was taken to a local hospital, and is expected to be OK.

The shooting happened inside the house, police said.
