
CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a South Side shooting on Tuesday afternoon, a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said.
The shooting happened before 4 p.m. near West 49th Street and South Hermitage Avenue in the city's Back of the Yards neighborhood, according to the CFD spokesperson.
Three people were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
One person died from their injuries.
One person was listed in serious to critical condition, and another was listed in fair to serious condition.
What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
