
CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Three people were wounded in a shooting Wednesday night in the north suburbs.
Four people were seated in a car parked in a driveway in the 1200-block of Navajo Drive in Carpentersville when two suspects approached them, police said.
There was a confrontation and shots were fired , and police said three of the four people in the car were wounded and the two suspects fled the scene.
The driver of the vehicle attempted to drive to a hospital when someone inside called 911 and police responded to the car in the intersection of Randall Road and Broadsmore Drive in Algonquin.

The three victims were then transported to the hospital, police said. Two of the victims have been released and the third is in stable condition, police said.
One neighbor said she heard at least two gunshots and she later saw a huge police presence, and at one point a K-9 was also brought to the scene.
Officers could be seen canvassing the area, as they searched for clues.
Neighbors are trying to make sense of what unfolded.
"From my experience this neighborhood is very quiet," neighbor Humberto Huerta said. "It's very surprising... There is not a lot of activity going on here... it is kind of shocking."
Police said the incident appears to be isolated and there is not an ongoing threat to the public.
Investigators continue to follow up on leads in hopes of locating the gunmen responsible for the attack.
