1 killed, 2 hurt in crash involving 2 semis off I-55 in south suburbs, police say

CHANNAHON, Ill. (WLS) -- A deadly crash was impacting Arsenal Road near I-55 in Channahon on Tuesday morning.

Illinois State Police said the crash happened at about 6:27 a.m. on the southbound lanes of Arsenal Road.

Chopper 7 was over the scene at about 7:30 a.m.

ISP said three people were taken to area hospitals.

One person died, ISP said.

The southbound lanes of the Frontage Road were shut down and reopened at approximately 11:00 a.m.
