Semi hauling 40K pounds of produce rollsover on NB I-57 exit ramp to WB I-80, ISP says

COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A crashed semi blocked the I-57 exit ramp to I-80 on Tuesday morning in the south suburbs.

The crash happened on the northbound I-57 ramp to westbound I-80 exit ramp.

Chopper 7 was over the scene at about 7 a.m. as crews worked to clear the road.

The load was left hanging off the guardrail, it did not appear that the semi lost its load.

Illinois State Police said the trailer was carrying about 40,000 pounds of produce.

Initial reports indicate the driver was not seriously injured. Illinois State Police said the driver was taken to an area hospital.

It was not immediately clear how long it would take for crews to clear the exit ramp.
