Cars struck by pipes after semi crashes on I-88 in west suburbs near Morton Arboretum: ISP

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Multiple vehicles were struck by pipes from a semi on I-88 in the west suburbs on Tuesday.

The crash happened at about 9:20 a.m. on the westbound lanes near milepost 129.5, ISP said.

A semi carrying metal pipes crashed and struck a light pole. ISP said the crash caused the load of pipes to spill onto the roadway.

Multiple vehicles were struck by the pipes, however ISP said there were no injuries.

Some lanes were closed as crews cleared the scene.
