Woman killed, 4 hurt in crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Soldier Field, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman died after police said a driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole on DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Soldier Field on Sunday.

The crash happened at about 2:21 a.m. in the 2500-block of S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police said.

CPD said a man was driving on DLSD when he allegedly lost control, crashed into a pole and crashed with the median.

A woman was rushed to University of Chicago Hospital where police said she died from her injuries.

Authorities have not released details about the victim.

The driver and three other passengers were taken to University of Chicago; they are expected to be OK.

Chicago police are investigating. It was not immediately clear if citations or charges were pending.
