1 civilian also hospitalized, CFD says
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago police officers were shot Friday afternoon on the city's South Side, fire officials said.
Chopper 7 was over the scene South Chappel Avenue and East 79th Street.
The officers were taken to the University of Chicago hospital with gunshot wounds in unknown condition, fire officials said.
A civilian was also hospitalized in the incident, CFD said.
COPA confirmed it is responding to an officer-involved shooting in the 2000 block of East 79th Street.
Dozens of police officers and squad cars could be seen in the area.
