Chicago dance team bringing the heat on the Road to Bud Billiken Parade

CHICAGO (WLS) -- With just 15 days to go until the iconic Bud Billiken Parade steps off, one of Chicago's standout youth dance teams is preparing to bring the energy to the South Side.

Shkunna Stewart, CEO of Bringing Out Talent Dance Company, also known as B.O.T. joined ABC7 Eyewitness 7 a.m. newscast Friday, July 25 to spotlight her dancers and share why the Bud Parade means so much to them.

Bringing Out Talent is the next dance group highlighted ahead of the Bud parade.

Founded to empower and inspire kids through movement, B.O.T. is known for its dynamic routines, strong community ties, and discipline both on and off the stage.

"What sets us apart is the heart," Stewart said. "These dancers train hard, and the Bud is our moment to show the city what we're made of."

The Bud Billiken Parade, the largest African American parade in the country, celebrates youth, education, and back-to-school season. Stewart says her team is already deep in rehearsals. "We treat it like the Super Bowl," she said. "The parade gives our kids a platform to shine."
