Body pulled from water in canal on Southwest Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A body was found in water Friday evening on the city's Southwest Side.

The discovery was made around 4:47 p.m. near the 3700 block of South Pulaski Road, Chicago police said.

The location is near the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal.

Police said a male body was pulled from the water and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His age and name have not been released.

No further information was immediately available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
