Person critically injured in explosion on North Side, Chicago fire officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person was critically injured in a explosion Wednesday on the city's North Side, Chicago fire officials said.

The explosion happened in the 4500 block of North Lincoln Avenue near Lincoln Square and Ravenswood.

CFD officials said a person was injured at that location due to an explosion in a stove. The person was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The person's age and gender were not yet released.

No other injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the explosion was not yet known.
