Southern Illinois house explosion kills 1, damages neighborhood | Video

ENERGY, Ill. (WLS) -- New video shows the moment a house exploded in southern Illinois Tuesday night.

One person was killed in the blast just after 7 p.m. that caused damage to the neighborhood surrounding the home at the corner of West College and McGinnis streets.

It was not immediately clear if anyone else was injured.

This happened in Energy, Illinois, which is not far from Carbondale.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is looking into the cause of the deadly blast.

The person who died has not been identified.
