Chicago police extends alert of Honda Civic air bag thefts

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued an alert saying thieves are targeting air bags from Honda Civics.

Thieves allegedly break the driver side window and take the airbags from the steering wheel, police said.

Police now say the suspects are driving a red Ford F-150.

The incidents happened at the following locations during the overnight hours:

-800-block of west 16th Street on Dec. 21 into the 22nd

-900-block of west 18th St. on Dec. 21 into the 22nd

-2200-block of west Mclean Ave. on Dec. 21 into the 22nd

-2000-block of west Armitage Avenue on Jan. 14 into 15th

-2300-block west Flournoy Avenue on Jan. 15 into the 17th
