1 killed in East Garfield Park shooting, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 27-year-old man was killed in a shooting in East Garfield Park Monday night, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 9:33 p.m. in the 3600-block of West Congress Parkway.

Police said the victim was entering the building when three men approached and fired multiple shots before fleeing.

The victim was wounded multiple times and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
