CHICAGO (WLS) -- A suburban man has been charged with robbing an armored truck driver in downtown Chicago this week.
The crime happened near Madison and State Street in the Loop at about 11:19 a.m. Wednesday, Chicago police said.
A security guard, who was the driver of a Brinks armored truck, had just left a store carrying bags of cash when the suspect, Dajon Harris of Evergreen Park, punched him and took one of the bags, according to police.
The driver then pulled out his gun and shot and injured the suspect, who was arrested shortly afterward, CPD said.
No other injuries were reported.
A Brink's spokesperson told ABC7 they do not comment on open law enforcement investigations.
