Man shot, killed while inside vehicle in Brighton Park, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot and killed while inside of a vehicle Sunday evening on the city's Southwest Side.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of South California Avenue in Brighton Park, Chicago police said.

The victim, a 40-year-old man, was inside of a vehicle when an unknown offender with a firearm shot him multiple times, police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

No further information was available as Chicago police continue to investigate.
