Downtown shooting leaves man wounded, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot downtown Thursday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 2 a.m. in the 800-block of South Michigan Avenue.

Police said a 37-year-old was shot in the leg and transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in fair condition.

The shooting may have occurred inside an apartment, police said.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
