19-year-old hurt in University Village shooting, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 19-year-old was shot on Wednesday morning on the city's West Side, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at about 5:09 a.m. in the 1200-Block of W. Washburne Avenue, according to police.

The male victim was outside when he was shot by someone traveling in a black vehicle, police said.

CPD said the victim was shot in the foot and was taken to University of Illinois hospital; he was expected to be OK.

No other information was available.
