Man shot in the head in South Side home, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating a shooting on the city's South Side Monday.

The shooting happened at about 4:50 a.m. in the 4600-block of South Winchester Avenue, police said.

A 30-year-old man was inside a home when someone approached and started shooting through the door, police said.

The man was shot in the head and shoulder. He was rushed to an area hospital in serious condition.

CPD Area One detectives are investigating.
