Tow truck driver wounded in shooting on SW Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A tow truck driver was wounded in a shooting on the Southwest Side Tuesday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 12:01 a.m. in the 3700-block of West 55th Street.

Police said the victim, a 35-year-old man, was driving eastbound when a black sedan drove past and someone inside fired a gun.

The victim was shot in the right thigh and transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
