Crash partially shuts down expressway near I-90/94 split; ISP says sheet metal blocking expressway

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A crash involving a semi partially shut down I-90/94 on Wednesday after sheet metal blocked off the expressway lanes, Illinois State Police said.

The crash happened at about 6:51 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway near Kostner Avenue, just before the 90/94 split, police said.

ISP said the crash involved two cars and a semi.

One person was taken to an area hospital with injuries.

The left three lanes of the Kennedy were blocked by the crash.

The right three lanes were blocked by large pieces of sheet metal.

ISP said extensive delays were expected as crews worked to clear the scene.
