Person hospitalized after motorcycle, dump truck crash in north suburbs, Illinois State Police say

COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A crash partially shut down Illinois Route 53 on Wednesday afternoon, Illinois State Police said.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of IL-53 near Palatine Road in Arlington Heights, ISP said.

Police said most lanes were shut down for "an extended period of time."

All lanes had reopened around 4:46 p.m., ISP said.

Chopper 7 was over the scene around 2:13 p.m. A black motorcycle appeared to have crashed into the barrier.

Illinois State Police said a dump truck was involved in the crash.

ISP said one person was taken to a hospital. Their condition was not released.
