CICERO, Ill. (WLS) -- A teen student was shot and killed Thursday afternoon in Cicero after dismissal at a high school, officials said.

The shooting happened around 3:20 p.m. in the 2100 block of South 59th Avenue in Cicero.

Police officers found a 17-year-old who had been shot, officials said. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The victim's identity has not been released.

Officials confirmed the victim was a student at Morton East High School, and the shooting happened nearby shortly after dismissal.

No arrests have been made.

Cicero police continue to investigate.
