Crash-and-grab thieves steal ATM from North Side gas station: CPD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Thieves smashed into a gas station and stole an ATM on the North Side Monday morning, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at around 3:49 a.m. in the 700 block of W. Lawrence Avenue, police said.

Police said three people in a Jeep Cherokee slammed into the BP Amoco station and stole the ATM.

No customers were inside the time, just employees. The manager said they were not hurt, just in shock.

The thieves then fled in a black SUV, police said. Area Three detectives are investigating.
