Chicago chefs to create meals using items from food pantry in 2nd annual Culinary Battle Royale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The second annual "Culinary Battle Royale" is happening next Tuesday.

Chefs will create meals using food pantry staples from Care for Friends in Edgewater.

Proceeds help the nonprofit in its mission to address food, housing and healthcare issues.

Chefs Jacquelyn Lord of The Dinner Belle and David Welch of Kitchn Studio joined ABC7 to talk more about the event and brought in meals to taste.

The Culinary Battle Royale is Tuesday, July 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Aura on the Lake.
