Illinois State Police investigating Dan Ryan Expressway shooting on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A shooting investigation caused traffic disruptions on the Dan Ryan Expressway on Chicago's South Side on Friday afternoon.

Illinois State Police said troopers responded to Interstate 94 northbound near 95th Street just before 1 p.m. for a report of an expressway shooting.

Someone inside a vehicle fired a weapon at another victim, but no one was hurt, ISP said.

All inbound lanes were shut down near the merge with Interstate 57 as police investigated and canvassed the area for bullet casings.

All lanes have since reopened, ISP said.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
