Person found dead inside garbage container in Lawndale, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person was found dead inside a garbage container on Chicago's West Side on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Police said a male of an unknown age was found unresponsive in the Lawndale neighborhood's 4700-block of West Arthington Street just after 1:30 p.m.

The person was pronounced dead on the scene. How he died was not immediately clear, and his identity was not immediately released.

Area detectives are conducting a death investigation.

Police did not immediately provide further information.
