Police and the Will County Coroner's Office said Devin C. Davis was riding a dirt bike east on Jefferson, approaching Hickory, with two other dirt bike riders, when he ignored a red light and drove into the intersection, according to witnesses. The other riders stopped at the intersection.

Maxie Robinson, 38, of Joliet was driving north on Hickory in a Chevrolet Impala, when he hit Davis, police said.

It's believed Robinson had a green traffic light at the time of the crash, police said.

The teen was thrown from his bike and died on the scene.

The car involved also hit a vehicle that was parked on Hickory Street, police said.

Robinson was charged with aggravated DUI and aggravated battery in connection to the crash.

He's currently being held at Will County Jail.

The two other dirt bike riders were cited for operating a non-highway vehicle on a roadway.

The intersection was closed for hours during an investigation Monday.
