Miracle Hall is charged with DUI in a Chicago crash that killed Mehnoosh Hatam, who was riding a motorcycle on DuSable Lake Shore Drive in the Loop.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 25-year-old woman is facing charges after another woman, a leader in Chicago's motorcycling community, was killed in a crash downtown Chicago, officials said.

The 49-year-old woman on a motorcycle who was killed in the fiery crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive Wednesday night, was identified by the motorcycling community as Mehnoosh Hatam.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400-block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Police said a 25-year-old woman driving a gray sedan southbound struck Hatam, who was riding a motorcycle in the same direction.

Close friends said Hatam was headed home from work at the time of the crash. Hatam was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where she died.

Police said the 25-year-old driver was not injured and was taken into custody.

The driver, 25-year-old Miracle Hall, has now been charges, including felony DUI causing death.

Hall is scheduled to appear in court Saturday.
