Dog flu cases continue as winter approaches

Chicago area veterinarians are still warning pet owners that the highly contagious dog flu is still a threat.

A new strain of the virus made many Chicago area dogs sick in the spring.

This week, the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association said new cases continue to be reported with the approach of winter.

A vaccine became available last month.
