Driver in custody after West Side chase, crash, Illinois State Police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A driver is in custody after a police chase and crash on the West Side, Illinois State Police said.

At about 3:34 a.m., police said a Toyota wanted in connection with a carjacking was located on I-290 near Morgan Avenue.

Troopers attempted to stop the Toyota, which fled and later crashed into another vehicle at Homan Avenue and Franklin Boulevard, police said. The vehicle that was hit by the Toyota then hit three other unoccupied vehicles.

Police said the Toyota driver was taken into custody and transported to a hospital with injuries. No other injuries were reported.
