Woman found shot to death in East Side alley, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was found shot to death in a Southeast Side alley on Sunday morning, Chicago police said.

Police said the woman, whose age was not immediately known, was found unresponsive in the East Side neighborhood's 11000-block of South Mackinaw Avenue just after 10:15 a.m.

The victim, who had suffered two gunshot wounds to the head, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

What led up to the shooting was not immediately clear.

No one is in custody, and Area Two detectives are investigating.

Police did not immediately provide further information.
