Woman killed in car crash in Elk Grove Village, officials say

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman was killed in a car crash Saturday in the northwest suburbs.

The crash happened before noon on Arlington Heights Road near the Elk Crossing Shopping Center in Elk Grove Village, police said.

A 59-year-old woman, Maria De Lourdesde Jimenez, died at the location, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

The roadway was closed for hours and later reopened around 6:53 p.m., police said.
