4 injured in head-on crash in Hampshire Township, officials say

HAMPSHIRE, Ill. (WLS) -- Four people were injured in a head-on crash Wednesday in the west suburbs.

Chopper 7 was over the scene near Route 72 and Engel Road in Hampshire Township.

At least two vehicles could be seen with heavy damage, and a third vehicle also appeared to be involved in the crash.

A medical helicopter and multiple ambulances could be seen at the site of the crash.

Officials later confirmed four people were hurt in the collision.

Traffic appeared to be completely halted near the area.
