Ground stop lifted for American Airlines flight departures to O'Hare: FAA

CHICAGO (WLS) -- There was a ground stop for American Airlines flights to O'Hare airport Tuesday night, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The FAA said the ground stop was only affecting American Airlines departures to O'Hare, but did not say why the ground stop had been issued.

As of 9 p.m., there were nearly 40 flight cancellations at O'Hare, and the ground stop has been lifted.
