St. Charles woman found dead after drowning in Fox River identified by officials

Body pulled from Fox River in west suburbs: sheriff

KANE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A body that was pulled from the Fox River on Wednesday has been identified as a suburban woman who died by drowning, officials said Thursday.

The Kane County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after the body was found in St. Charles Township.

The sheriff's office says a boater spotted the body around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Kane County Coroner's Office performed an autopsy Thursday, saying the person died by drowning, pending toxicology.

The coroner identified the person as 41-year-old Amanda Flick of St. Charles.

"Kane County Coroner, Dr. Monica Silva, extends deepest condolences to the family and friends of Amanda Flick during this incredibly difficult time," a statement from the office read in part. "The investigation into the death remains ongoing."

No further information was immediately available.
