Highest ragweed counts in Chicago since 2018

CHICAGO (WLS) -- This year reports show that Chicago has had the highest ragweed counts since 2018, according to Loyola Medicine.

It is widely considered the worst and most common pollen allergen.

Ragweed produces a ton of pollen, which can make those with allergies feel miserable.

Ragweed allergy season typically begins in late July or early August and lasts until the first frost.

Dr. Rachna Shah recommends for those who are sensitive to allergies to keep windows closed.

She does not discourage people from spending time outside; however, she highly recommends changing clothing when coming back indoors.
