HOMEWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- Some local Little League baseball players have made it into their World Series, and now they're trying to raise funds to help the team travel for the big game.
The 12-U Homewood All-Star Team practiced Monday night in south suburban Homewood. The players and 13 families leave town on Thursday.
Organizers say the nine-day trip will cost upwards of $20,000.
"Everyone's supporting us because they want us to go to the World Series," said Tyler Schlaffer, Little League player.
"I'm kind of really thankful for my community of being so nice and donating so much money," said Cecil Archbold, Little League player.
The team has a PayPal page set up for donations to help get the Homewood team to Maryland.
