Father wins $1M for family with Powerball ticket bought at Bensenville car wash

BENSENVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- An Illinois family is a million dollars richer after winning the Powerball.

The "Malongo" family, what they're calling themselves to remain anonymous, say they stopped at the Exxon Mobile in Bensenville for a car wash.

The father grabbed a Powerball ticket while there and it matched all five numbers in the drawing on August 9: 7-14-23-24-60.

"I felt relieved, but my wife - she thought I was lying. Then she said, 'We're going to Disney World!'," the father said.

The family says they plan to use their winnings to further their children's education and take a trip to Disney.

"We hope we're all less stressed and just happy," he said.
