Powerball jackpot rises to $1B after Monday night's drawing ends without a big winner

NEW YORK -- With no grand prize winner in Monday night's drawing, the Powerball jackpot has now surged to an estimated $1 billion for Wednesday night's drawing.

The jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing now carries a cash option of $433.1 million and ranks as the eighth-largest jackpot in Powerball history. It is also the largest Powerball prize offered so far in 2026.

The jackpot continued to climb after no ticket matched all six numbers drawn Monday: 6, 37, 54, 55, 64 and Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier was 3X.

If no one claims Wednesday's jackpot, the prize will continue to clime and become one of the largest lottery jackpots ever.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on May 2, 2026, by two tickets in Florida and Texas that split a $20 million jackpot.

The odds of winning a Powerball jackpot are a minuscule 1 in 292.2 million. Those odds will be the same for U.S. and U.K. players, lottery officials say.

U.S. lottery officials say the expanded player base will allow Powerball jackpots to grow more quickly, likely increasing sales as more people are drawn to larger grand prizes.

Powerball tickets cost $2.

Powerball is played in 45 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the game, players choose five white-ball numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. Drawings will continue to be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
