INDIANAPOLIS -- The U.S. and Israeli war with Iran continues to give drivers sticker shock at the gas pump.

But drivers in Indiana could soon see some relief.

On Wednesday, Republican Gov. Mike Braun announced he's suspending the state's 7 percent "use tax" on fuel for 30 days.

Braun said the savings could amount to around $50 million for drivers.

"And I call on the attorney general to enforce protections from any type of price gouging as well," Braun said.

The month-long gas tax holiday went into effect immediately.

However, it may take until later this week or next for drivers to see lower prices at the pump.

Braun said he will review whether the suspension will need to be extended after the 30 days.

Georgia's governor last month gave his state's drivers a similar break in suspending an excise tax for 60 days.
