Northwest Side fire kills woman, injures 2 relatives, family friend says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman has died after a house fire on Chicago's Northwest Side over the weekend.

That fire happened Sunday morning in the 4700-block of North Kewanee Avenue in the city's Mayfair neighborhood.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said 52-year-old Jennifer Klebba died Monday.

Two cats were also rescued from that fire and given oxygen.

Klebba's 80-year-old aunt and her 56-year-old brother were injured and are still in the hospital recovering, a family friend said.

Klebba's friend said she was the caretaker for those two relatives and was a fun person, who loved art, music and theater.

Officials did not immediately provide any additional information about how the fire started.
