Windy City Weekend: Host Chat

CHICAGO (WLS) -- After a few weeks away from each other, Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini were back together on this morning's edition of "Windy City Weekend."

They were joined by another personality who is a staple here on ABC7 Chicago. That would be Ken Jennings, the former multi-million dollar winning contestant on "Jeopardy!" who has hosted that show since late 2021.

ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch

"Jeopardy!" can be seen every weekday at 3:30 p.m. CT on ABC7 Chicago. The legendary game show just started Season 42 earlier in September. And for the first time in show history, new episodes are now available to stream after initial airing on WLS-TV. You can find them on Hulu, the day after their initial airing.

Jennings joined Warner and Chiaverini on the show on Friday to tell them about the "Inside Jeopardy! Live on Tour," an event that will be at the Chicago Theatre on the evening of Sept. 12! The event will feature an interactive Jeopardy! Game, hosted by Ken Jennings himself, includes prizes awarded to the top winners, and a live taping of the "Inside Jeopardy!" podcast, hosted by Michael Davies and Sarah Foss, with special guest appearances by fan favorite champion Juveria Zaheer and "Celebrity Jeopardy!" champion W. Kamau Bell.

You can buy tickets here. Or visit Ticketmaster.com for more information about the event at the Chicago Theatre!

Chicago-themed 'Jeopardy!'

Play along with Val and Ryan to see if you can answer these questions.

Warner and Chiaverini got to have even more fun with Ken on the show on Friday when we played a game of Chicago-themed "Jeopardy!" with questions that have been on the game show in the past.

Some of those questions in the Chicago-themed "Jeopardy!" were: "Born In 1834, This Chicagoan Revolutionized the Department Store Industry;" "For all But 12 Years from 1955 to 2011, Chicago Had a Mayor With This Last Name;" and "This Chicago Poet Wrote That Fog Comes On Little Cat Feet."

Play along with Warner and Chiaverini to see if you can answer these questions. And you can test your own "Jeopardy!" skills at the live show on Friday night at the Chicago Theatre!

Roeper's reviews: Spend or save?

Which new releases are worth your money?

Warner and Chiaverini then welcomed film critic Richard Roeper, who reviewed three new releases, two of which were in theaters, while one was a streaming series.

"Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale" - SPEND
This is the third and final film in the franchise that started with the legendary and acclaimed TV series from the 2010s. The film follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter the 1930s and face financial difficulties and public scandal. Roeper gave this a positive review.

"The Long Walk" - SPEND
This dystopian thriller film is based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. It follows competitors in a twisted contest where 50 young men must keep walking until only one of them is left standing. Roeper also gave this film a good review.

"The Girlfriend" - SPEND
In this limited series based on Michelle Frances' novel of the same name, Robin Wright plays a wealthy, controlling mother who will go to any lengths to break up her son's relationship with his new, social-climbing girlfriend. Roeper also liked this series.
