Man charged with kidnapping, sexually abusing girl in Palatine: police

PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- A man is facing kidnapping and sexual abuse charges after an incident involving a minor in north suburban Palatine, police said.

Police said officers responded to a report of a robbery and sexual offense in the 200-block of West Wood Street around 7 a.m. Monday.

The victim, between the ages of 13 and 16, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was released to her parents.

Police started an investigation and eventually found the suspect, 26-year-old Kearve Williams, in the downtown Palatine area. Officers took him into custody after a brief foot chase.

He is due in court on Wednesday morning.
