Suspect at large after Lansing business shooting, residents asked to shelter in place: police

LANSING, Ill. (WLS) -- A suspect is at large after a shooting Thursday afternoon at a business in the south suburbs, police said.

A large police response was seen at Nippon Paint Automotive Americas on East 170th Street in Lansing, Illinois.

The scene is across the street from the Lansing village hall and police department buildings.

Officers armed with long guns could be seen going in and out of the facility while investigating.

Lansing police said they are searching for a suspect who is "5'8" 160 pounds," and is wearing a "black hoodie, and a white surgical mask."

The suspect was last seen going southbound on 170th Street.
