Woman killed in University Village crash identified by officials

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman died in a crash on Sunday morning in University Village, police said.

The crash happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 1100-block of West Congress Parkway, police said.

Police said the unknown driver of a dark-colored Lincoln sedan was heading eastbound when it struck a median.

The 24-year-old victim was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.

She died at the hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Lilia Perez of Chicago.

No other information was available.
