KENDALL COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- The man killed in a shooting at a west suburban Valentine's Day party over the weekend has been identified.
The Kendall County Coroner's Office said Thursday Luis Manuel Chauran Escobar, 22, of Valencia, Venezuela, was killed in a shooting Sunday at a home at 5 Palomino Lane in unincorporated Oswego Township.
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office previously said they believed the shooting took place between 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday, after a ticketed Valentine's Day party at the home.
A 14-year-old girl was also shot in the leg.
Police said they believed shots were fired from outside the home.
The person of interest who was originally detained after the shooting has been released without charges, police said Thursday.
"This has been a very complex investigation thus far. Although there is still much to be done, I want to acknowledge the work of our deputies and investigators in their efforts to conduct a detailed and thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding this incident," Undersheriff Bobby Richardson said in a statement.
The incident appears targeted, and there is no threat to the greater community, police said.
Neighbors said the property was the site of frequent large-scale parties.
Police said they have had several prior calls for noise and complaints tied to the property.
ABC7 Chicago contacted the phone number associated with the Valentine's Day party.
A text message response said, "Some teenagers arrived in a black car that arrived armed and started a discussion between them. The truth. We don't know about the people who shot. They weren't invited."
Investigators want to speak with anyone who attended the party or who may have information, photos or video related to the shooting.
