Campton Hills intersection shut down for gas leak, police say

CAMPTON HILLS, Ill. -- A major intersection in Kane County is shut down Monday morning due to a gas leak, police said.

Route 64 and LaFox Road is closed in all directions, Campton Hills police said in a Facebook post at 11:15 a.m.

The public is asked to avoid the area, as emergency personnel work to secure the leak.

Chopper 7 was over the scene about 11:30 a.m. There was a large emergency response in the area, which includes a nearby strip mall.
