Man in ambulance stolen from Rockford arrested on West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man in an ambulance stolen in Rockford was arrested in Chicago Wednesday night, police said.

Police said the man in a private ambulance fled from Rockford police.

The Cook County Sheriff's Department observed the ambulance near the 700-block of North Homan Avenue at around 7:40 p.m. and conducted a traffic stop.

The man was taken into custody and charges are pending, police said.
